entry to the session: we use paperless ticketing, so use your smart device with tickets on it, we will scan the barcode for entry

*All sessions are general admission seating, there is no allocated seating for BQFF sessions at the cinema.

*Accessible seating is available with New Farm Cinemas. We have companion seating available, please get in touch for the access code when purchasing tickets.

From Thursday 5th March 2020, from 6:00PM the BQFF ticket desk will be set up in the foyer of New Farm Cinemas, and will have set hours of operation within the days prior to BQFF. This will have Eftpos and facilities only. No Cash kept at the BQFF box office.

 

During 5 - 15 March 2020, the BQFF ticket desk will open 30mins prior to the first session of the day, and remain operating until 30mins after the final film of the day has begun.

Bus lines, 199 + 196 stops outside the cinema.

Free & unlimited time restriction parking is available only on streets indicated in map below. 2 hour maximum on street parking otherwise available where indicated.

New Farm Cinemas was first built c. 1921. It was also known as Astor Theatre, Merthyr Picture Palace, and Village Twin Cinema Complex over the years.

Ticket & Box Office Info

 

Eventfinda is Brisbane Queer Film Festival’s ticketing partner. If you have not already, set up your Eventfinda account when you first click on a ticket type - it will prompt you to set up account or login.

 

Tickets are available to be purchased online only from BQFF website or Eventfinda website, until the festival period when we set up the IRL BQFF ticket desk in the foyer of New Farm Cinemas.

 

Tickets are NOT available to purchase from any of New Farm Cinemas ticketing system, candy bar / box office or online systems (unless otherwise indicated for specific sessions).

Ticketing and merchant fees are included in the ticket price. We try to keep the ticket price accessible so that you can see more films. The more films you see the more money we have to put back in to build the festival for you!

*New Farm Cinemas is a heritage building. As such they have electronic stair climber platforms into the venue. There is another small lift inside the venue to access the cinemas on other levels that has limited capacity up to 225kg. These lifts can fit small motorised wheelchairs and standard wheelchairs only. If you are concerned about access, please contact New Farm Cinema to discuss on Phone: (07) 3358 4444.

Ticket Terms & Conditions

 

Look after your ticket and treat it kind. It must be presented in order to gain admittance to the session without exception. The barcode uniquely identifies the ticket and the purchaser and can be scanned only once. BQFF practices green ticketing and as such will not be printing tickets for general collection. Digital scanning on mobile device is recommended. However if you have misplaced your digital ticket, receipt, email or mobile device, please see the BQFF Box Office attendant for assistance.

 

Our Box Office is operated by BQFF volunteers - as such please be mindful and courteous when interacting with us, we are here to assist you, to have the best experience possible during BQFF 2020. Tickets are sold by Eventfinda Ltd as agent for and on behalf of Brisbane Queer Film Festival.

 

We reserve the right to withdraw, replace, add or substitute films - in extreme circumstance - but will endeavour to communicate the circumstances as soon as possible to all current ticket holders and patrons.

 

If a film is postponed, purchased tickets for the original date will be valid for the new date unless otherwise advised.

If a film is canceled, purchased tickets will be valid for a new session / date to a replacement film, unless otherwise advised.

If a film is canceled, and no replacement is available, purchased tickets will receive a full refund.

 

When presenting concession tickets, companion card tickets or sessions with an age restriction in place, appropriate identification must be shown. If suitable identification is not presented, you may be refused admittance to the event.

 

Latecomers are permitted! All sessions are general admission seating (no allocated seating for any session at BQFF).
